Roulette is an interesting game with a history that dates back thousands of years. Roulette is also known as black-jack or simply ‘the wheel’. The origins of roulette date back to the Roman Empire when it was commonly referred to as the wheel of fortune. Roulette has been a favorite casino game since the 15th century. Roulette is also called the ‘game of chance’ and is one of the most popular games in casinos worldwide.

The origins of roulette can be traced back to the French who were famous for their games of the wheel. The French revolutionized roulette by making it impossible for players to see what cards were coming next. After this new concept took off it became popular in the French courts and it took the world by storm. Roulette, like many other games of the wheel, was soon adopted by the upper class of European society.

In roulette, players place bets by arranging the numbers on the roulette wheel, the way they spin the wheel generates a sequence of possible hands. The bets are made in pairs, one number bet placed on the outer wheel and the other number bet placed on the inner wheel. Roulette players may place bets ranging from one to six, inclusive. The player with the best combination of outside bets wins. It is possible for any single number combination to be picked more than once, inclusive of multiples of six.

Players place bets according to what the dealer tells them. The dealer will spin the roulette wheel with one, two, three or four balls. The player has to correctly predict where the ball will stop before placing their bets. If the dealer stops the ball at a point not intended, the player’s bet is lost.

All table minimum bets must be paid off by the dealer in full before the end of the game. Table minimums do not apply in online roulette, however; all bets are final. Online players must only start betting once the dealer says the ball has spun two and a half times. It is recommended to bet in small amounts to avoid paying too much at the start.

It is important to understand that different roulette systems offer varying odds on the same game. The most exact odds cannot be offered in all systems. The best way to decide which system offers the most accurate odds is to test various systems until you find one that works with your individual preferences and needs. Betting systems can be tested on the European Roulette Layout, American layout, British English layout and the Australian Holdem Layout.
